The Idle Traveller: The Art of Slow Travel | 
I'm going to add two countries to my #PassportLitsy list -- Pakistan (Umerkot, above) and Sudan (River Atbara, below). My family sponsors two little girls and their families and villages through #PlanInternational and these are their countries. They are my babies as much as my own babies are and I want to honor them with my reading. @steverogers

CouronneDhiver Yes @mrsmarch it's been the most rewarding experience ... I've been sponsoring for about 10 years. My current girls, who I've had for about 2 years, are all 7 and 8 years old and we're at a really fun stage of exchanging cards and colouring pages. I love it. It takes time to overcome the SLOW mail systems and to bridge the cultural gap but it will be worth it. 7y
mrsmarch @CouronneDhiver My girl in Pakistan just turned a year old. I started her sponsorship when she was only 7 mos. Her parents sent me a letter thru an interpreter on her 1st birthday and they added baby's handprint in purple ink at the bottom. I nearly sobbed when I saw it. I added sponsorship of a 7 y.o. in Sudan this summer and I've only sent her a postcard, but I'm hopeful where bc she's older she will send drawings and the like. 7y
