Rest in the Mourning
Rest in the Mourning | r.h. Sin
20 posts | 19 read | 9 to read
The calm before and after the storm. Rest in the Mourning is a steady and profound stream of conscious thoughts and emotion. Documenting unhealthy relationships and why the heart ends up in the hands of those deemed unworthy. It speaks to the heart's ability to hold on to relationships that no longer deserve our energy as well as what happens when we are ready to let go. Rest in the Mourning is about self-care and self-love.

Really nice, slow sadness about questioning relationship moving forward. Has some powerful statements about choosing yourself first. Although it does keep with not mourning a lost love, but learning from a lesson. Very calming poetry collection. Not too wild or hard going.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I enjoyed “Rest in the Mourning” more than I enjoyed most of Sin‘s past works that I‘ve read. The poetry in this collection doesn‘t include as much “rambling in the form of poetry” and I could relate with this collection more.

I love that r.h. Sin is so vulnerable in these poems of heartbreak and love.

Rest in the Mourning was a decent poetry book. The ideas discussed were pretty nice but many of them were quite old. Sin merely rephrased them to suit his needs. I didn't like that last part of it. Nor did I like the part that there was next to no punctuation used. I don't understand why contemporary poets think that they can simply let go of all sort of punctuation! It irritates the hell out of me. 😤

Rating: 4/5 stars.

RH is not Tyler Knott Gregson or Michael Faudet BUT he wrote some words I cannot speak.

I dogear poetry collections. It makes it easier to find the words that struck me. Sometimes my books know they're loved before I know I love them.
