The Midwife Of Hope River is one of my all-time favorite books, so I‘m always eager to read anything by Patricia Harman. This is a contemporary story about a midwife named Clara who goes on the run for various reasons and ends up in a small town in Canada. It dragged in places but all of the secondary characters brought up the rating for me. 3.5⭐️rounded up to 4.

I liked the contemporary story from Patricia Harman, she included some mystery! but the intrigue for me was too watered down with a sentimental wrap up in the end...i would recommend The Midwife of Hope River more than this one

I wasn't sure if I'd like this book, but I ended up loving it. The author made me feel like I was in that island community along with the characters. I'm going to look for her first book, The Midwife of Hope River.
