For eight months author David McAninch & his family lived in Gascony taking up residence in a 200 hundred year old converted textile mill. His purpose was to learn more about the food—from rich decadence to more rustic fare—wine, & people of the region. What he found was duck, duck & more duck, new friends & a way of life in which doing things by hand following old traditions was the only way to do it. A really interesting, well-written account.❤️
