Will of the Empress
Will of the Empress | Tamora Pierce
10 posts | 47 read | 8 to read
Four mages. One destiny. No turning back. New York Times bestselling author Tamora Pierce's masterful novel is now available in a mass market paperback edition. Daja, Briar, Tris, and Sandry have grown up and grown apart since their days together at Winding Circle, and Sandry's especially disappointed with the change. When Sandry's uncle requests that her three old friends accompany her on a visit to Sandry's vast lands within the Empire of Namorn, the young mages discover that they've landed in a trap. Namorn's iron-willed Empress has plans for Sandry and her companions, and she has wily and powerful mages to help her. But so, of course, does Sandry--if only she can get them to work together . . . .

I liked this book, but I didn't realize beforehand that it was a continuation of the Circle of Magic series. I've only read the first book in that series, so I'm not sure if I really understood everything.

Doing some #audioknitting today to keep me from going crazy stuck on the couch. Migraine fatigue is getting me down this month! Working on this banner while re-listening to a favorite. The writing is definitely geared for kids, but I still think its a good representation of dealing with trauma and how that can impact your ability to connect with people you are close to. I love these kids, and I‘m glad they can be there for other struggling kids!

This book reminded me how much I love these characters and Tamora Pierce. Though we have traveled with these four since they split up, they have been separated from each other. Seeing them come together again as adults was amazing. I hope there will be more about the four of them in the future. The audiobook was awesome

#SeasonsReadings2016- All of Tamora Pierce's books have #kickassheroines, but Sandry, Daja, and Tris are my favorites.

Not a lot of authors could have made this world such a thrilling and immersive one, but Tamora Pierce goes above and beyond that. The four mages have such an incredible fantasy, but still such relatable problems. If you haven't read it, pick it up now!
