When All Hell Breaks Loose: Stuff You Need to Survive When Disaster Strikes
When All Hell Breaks Loose: Stuff You Need to Survive When Disaster Strikes | Cody Lundin
6 posts | 2 read | 1 to read
Survival expert Cody Lundin's new book, When All Hell Breaks Loose: Stuff You Need To Survive When Disaster Strikes is what every family needs to prepare and educate themselves about survival psychology and the skills necessary to negotiate a disaster whether you are at home, in the office, or in your car. This is not your father's scout manual or a sterile FEMA handout. It entertains as it informs, describing how to maximize a survival mind-set necessary for self-reliance. According to the book, living through an emergency scenario is 90 percent psychology, and 10 percent methodology and gear. Relevant quotes and tips are placed throughout the pages to help readers remember important survival strategies while under stress and anxiety. Lundin also addresses basic first aid and hygiene skills and makes recommendations for survival kit items for the home, office, and car. Watch naturalist Cody Lundin in "Dual Survival" on The Discovery Channel as he uses many of the same skills and techniques taught in his books. When All Hell Breaks Loose provides solutions on how to survive a catastrophe. Lundin addresses topics such as: * Potable drinking water * Storing super-nutritious foods * Heating or cooling without conventional power * How to create alternative lighting options * Building a makeshift toilet & composting the results * Catching rodents for food * Safely disposing of a corpse Cody Lundin and his Aboriginal Living Skills School have been featured in dozens of national and international media sources, including Dateline NBC, CBS News, USA Today, The Donny and Marie Show, and CBC Radio One in Canada, as well as on the cover of Backpacker magazine. When not teaching for his own school, he is an adjunct faculty member at Yavapai College and a faculty member at the Ecosa Institute. Cody is the only person in Arizona licensed to catch fish with his hands, and lives in a passive solar earth home sixty miles from Prescott, Arizona.

July 14 #SummerSpecial Survival This book seems appropriate today following a tornado touchdown about 5 km from both my daughters place of residence yesterday. There were 125 houses damaged there in a neighborhood of Ottawa. @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

I've been pondering this #bookjournal format for awhile and I'm ready to give it a try. The sections are To Remember, To Do, and Geeking Out! I read a lot of #nonfiction and have tried taking notes like I learned in school as well as marking passages-- neither methods are working for me. Hopefully this will!
If you decide to try this format, let me know how it goes! Do you have a note taking format that works well for you?

📚my books are organized by category
📚In my library! This picture isn't of all the shelves, but you get the idea (and it's messy because I'm in the middle of adding another bookcase and organizing)
📚 Physical copies with the occasional digital cookbook
that's on sale and I want to test. I actually buy about 98% of my books secondhand, so I don't have a preference between hard or soft cover

As a public school teacher, I am heartened that two Republican Senators stood with the Dems to vote against DeVos. Trying to be optimistic that she won't last in this position. Most importantly, seeing other posts and comments, I feel profoundly supported by this incredible community.💜💚💜💚💜 Thank you! #TeachersofLitsy

Tcip So this came at a hard time for us. After this the decision was easy to home school for the foreseeable future. 7y
DogMomIrene @Lmstraubie @Samwise_Gamgee Thank you! Love this community! 7y
DogMomIrene @Tcip Yeah, I think there will be many people choosing to homeschool. And see what happens. With your oldest being 4, that sounds manageable for several years, which is great. You can actually take field trips too! 7y
