She was certain of one thing… Sophy's relationship with the attractive Dutch surgeon Maximillan Oosterwelde was of the blow-hot-blow-cold variety. He might be unsure of his feelings for her, but one thing she knew for sure—in her heart, Sophy did not want any "blow cold" at all!

1969. I loved the heroine, her family & pets. There is a great surgery under pressure scene. I did not love the rich Dutch doctor in this one. There were some very odd shenanigans as to why it took so long for him to declare himself. There were also some things with side characters that were probably socially acceptable in 1969 but which squeeved me out. #harlequin #romantsy #thegreatbetty #theuncrushablejerseydress

Classic Betty Neels.

British nurse, and self-described Plain Jane, falls in love with a handsome Dutch physician.
Miunderstandings ensue. A quick HEA that explains away the drama caused by secondary characters.

I wonder how many handsome doctors there are in the Netherlands. Hundreds if Betty Neels is the gauge.

It's a fun read.
