Princess Misty of Beldora longs for a more exciting life, but gets more than she bargained for when she is captured by Lord Badlug, the ruler of the neighboring kingdom of Grimoire. He intends to marry her and conquer Beldora, leading the land into ruin and chaos. Together with the long-suffering citizens of Grimoire and a certain bumbling prince, Misty must fight to protect her kingdom and free both realms from Badlugs tyrannical rule. Misty is determined not to be another damsel in distress; she'll discover just what it takes to be the hero of the story.

Mehso-so

The art in this graphic novel is right up my alley, colorful and crisp, but the story skews younger than I originally thought so it comes off overly simplistic. The concept is great, a princess rescuing herself with the help of new not so monstrous monster friends, but it lacked depth for me. Still a fun fast read if you‘re into the idea though!

In a world of strong-willing kingdom-saving princess books, this doesn't add a lot of originality to the genre. It does, however, accomplish what it sets out to do, with racially diverse characters and feminism for all. Plus, the art is nice and crisp.

Wasn't a huge fan of this one... none of the characters resonated with me and the graphics were kind of meh.

As a huge fan of princess stories, I was excited to read this. And the fact that it's about a princess who takes fate into her own hands and sets out to save the day made it even better. The female characters are strong, intelligent, and just all around amazing. The plot moves quickly, keeping you interested the whole way through. The artwork is fantastic, though the bad guy is somewhat reminiscent of Skeletor.
