The Mystery of the Screaming Clock | 
This was a story I'd first read when I was in school. I've revisited the book several times. Though the cover appears pretty worn, it's still in good shape. It was part of a 3-in-1 collection.
As I'm a greenhorn writer, the way the story has been written, is a benchmark for me. It's fast paced and an exciting read. Yes, even now.
I think I was around 10 when I read these. I've read and enjoyed the Nancy Drew series, Trixie Belden Series (though I secretly prefer Trixie Belden) and a few Hardy Boys but I was more of a tomboy and much prefer The Three Investigators! I was really into mystery then and devoured these books.
