You're no idiot, of course. You know the American Revolution started when those guys in Boston threw some tea off a boat. Or was it when Paul Revere made his famous ride? Let's face it: when it comes to knowing about our nation's struggle for independence, our grade-school memories are about as trustworthy as Benedict Arnold. Don't blush red (or white, or blue) yet! The Complete Idiot's Guide to the American Revolution is an authoritative overview of the conflict, filled with little-known facts that will enlighten even the most educated history buff. “The bill will include even more funding for the military and more funding for Trump‘s border crackdown, while slashing crucial programs like Medicaid, Medicare, and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, and also repealing clean energy credits put in place by the Biden administration. Up to 15 million Americans will be uninsured by 2034 due to the bill‘s cuts, and 7.6 million will be at risk of losing Medicaid,(cont):

TheBookHippie Ain‘t no hate like Christian love. The cruelty is the point. Breaking people is the point. Pure evil. 2w

Suet624 It‘s unconscionable. 2w
BooksandCoffee4Me @TheBookHippie please know that he and many of his supporters call themselves Christians but are not truly. In Luke 6, Jesus says that at their death, “Many will say ‘Lord‘ and I‘ll say I never knew them” because of how they lived. A Christian loves people. I do not stand with the so-called Christian right. I stand with Jesus and those who truly live His Word. 💛 2w
ncsufoxes Adding additional work requirements for the elderly & disabled that receive Medicaid is just 🤬 2w
Prairiegirl_reading It‘s just sickening. And I don‘t even live in the US. 2w
TheBookHippie @BooksandCoffee4Me I do know. I know most of the Bible by memory -and The Torah and the Jewish Bible. They‘re still using it. So it‘s still true. As long as they use the name they tarnish it for it. It‘s an unfortunate truth. It‘s also unfortunate they don‘t know the beatitudes let alone Matthew 25:31-46. I attend church with Mr BookHippie who is Presbyterian, I attended parochial school. I was in a building of worship MWTS&S my entire childhood 2w
TheBookHippie @BooksandCoffee4Me I was raised multi-faithed and I‘m well versed in Christianity. I‘m happy you are a person of love. These people wouldn‘t recognise Jesus if he walked in the door. 2w
TheBookHippie @ncsufoxes it‘s unreal. 2w
TheBookHippie @Prairiegirl_reading It‘s truly sick. 2w
CoverToCoverGirl Scary… the voters who supported, can‘t say the name, are still wearing rose tinted goggles watching everything unfold with eager and malice filled hearts, without even realizing that the gun is being aimed and fired directly at them. They will act surprised when they finally realize what‘s been done. I‘m Canadian and happy the our vote didn‘t go down that road in our recent election but it was a very worrisome few weeks, possibly a near miss. 2w
Reggie Ummm did you see the part where there‘s actually tax credits for the people who own tanning beds. It‘s so crazy. 2w
BarbaraBB Aren‘t there any well-meaning republicans left in that government? I keep wondering why reasonable thinking politicians don‘t stand up together against the mad man, but that might be naive. (edited) 2w

@TheBookHippie @BooksandCoffee4Me

The attempted genocide of my American Indigenous ancestors, and the forced assimilation of the survivors, all done by people who claimed Catholic and Christianity as their “guiding“ faith. As a daughter of a Catholic God, I know my God. My God is pure love above all else. I refuse to believe my God wanted the bloodshed of my ancestors, nor the hatred fueled chaos of today.

TheBookHippie @Reggie I did!!! What in the world?!?! 2w
TheBookHippie @BarbaraBB not that I know of … but I keep hoping one turns up… 2w
BarbaraBB @Reggie That part even made it to our news. We‘re beyond flabbergasted 2w
vivastory @BarbaraBB I read an article a few yrs ago about Republicans who at one point went on right wing media, specifically Fox news, and for the most part played the game w/ a bit of scepticism but did it anyway to get votes even if they didn't believe a lot of what Fox was selling. There was a shift when those politicians retired and the incoming Republicans were raised on Fox & 100% bought into any nonsense they sold. That article always stuck with me 2w
