Clive Cussler introduces Sam and Remi Fargo in Spartan Gold. An ancient treasure stolen by Xerxes the Great . . . Discovered by Napoleon Bonaparte . . . The clues to its hidden location lost until now . . . Adventurers and treasure hunters Sam and Remi Fargo are on a wild-goose chase. Up to their waists in the Great Pocomoke Swamp in Maryland, they're hunting for lost gold. What they find instead is a small Second World War German U-boat. Inside the submarine they find a body - and a puzzling, incredibly rare bottle of wine. This bottle was one of twelve taken from Napoleon's 'lost cellar'. But it is also a clue to a fabulous, ancient treasure. One that Hadeon Bondaruk - a half-Russian, half-Persian millionaire - will do anything to get his hands on. For he claims descent from treasure's one-time owner. It will be his, no matter who stands in his way . . . Clive Cussler, author of the celebrated Dirk Pitt novels Arctic Drift and Crescent Dawn, presents his newest series, following the adventures of treasure hunters Sam and Remi Fargo - beginning withSpartan Gold. Mehso-so

I‘ve always thought of Cussler‘s novels as inherently “Dad books” but I am also always up for nautical adventures, which many of his covers seem to promise. This first in the #FargoAdventuresSeries has been on my TBR for ages, and I decided to dive in finally. While it‘s certainly nonstop action for the married treasure hunter couple, I wanted a bit more character development to help balance things out. The historical puzzles are fun though!

Pickpick

This is not a genre I normally read but my brother in law highly recommended it. I enjoyed the story - dialogue, mystery, adventure. I'm not sure I will read another by this author but I am glad I read this one.

I cannot even begin to express how much I loved this book. The chemistry between Sam and Remi Fargo is so seamless and as a team they are so freaking bad ass. I read a few reviews about how people found their reactions to danger to be “unrealistic”, but call me crazy - in adventure fiction I don‘t always want realism. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Spending a little time with Sam and Remi Fargo before bed. I didn‘t even finish ONE book in March (for SHAAAME) so I‘m hoping to remedy that in April! Glad to see everyone back after the blackout. I missed my Littens!💕 Time to continue this adventure 🚁🚤🚘🍷

Yay! @24in48 is about to start! I need to plan my books for the weekend since I will be reading at my daughter's softball tournament. I am currently reading Spartan Gold because I was hoping to get my husband to read with me. He didn't. #fail I am still reading the book though. It's good, typical Cussler novel. A good fast read.
