Midway Relics and Dying Breeds
Midway Relics and Dying Breeds: A Tor.Com Original | Seanan McGuire
3 posts | 7 read | 2 to read
"The trouble with wanting to do the right thing is that frequently the right thing today is the wrong thing for tomorrow, or the wrong thing for the people who are standing between you and your perfect, platonic future. The wild was the wrong place for our elephant, just like the recycler was the wrong place for Billie, and the cities were the wrong place for me." A tale of bioengineering, a carnival, and the cost of finding one's right place. At the Publisher's request, this title is being sold without Digital Rights Management Software (DRM) applied.

This short story was slightly interesting as a look at a future post scarcity world with low carbon footprint, but it didn't fully engaged or grab me.

Pickpick

A beautiful short story about a circus in the near future where genetic manipulation is commonplace and ancient animals can be resurrected.

Digging into a novella while traveling, mainly in hopes of being free to pick up a hard copy book soon after getting home.
