Baby Signs
Baby Signs: A Baby-Sized Introduction to Speaking with Sign Language | Joy Allen
6 posts | 3 read | 1 to read
Long before they're able to talk, babies have a whole lot to say. With this adorable board book of essential signs, babies and toddlers can easily learn how to communicate their needs, wants, and feelings and even make basic observations with a simple gesture. Studies show that babies who use sign language feel less frustrated, throw fewer tantrums, and often learn to talk more easily. Just point to a sign in the book, say the word while making the sign, and the baby will soon be signing. Communicating a wet diaper or a hungry belly, asking for help or saying "all done" becomes as easy as waving hello or good-bye. And these are just a few of the thirteen signs inside this small and adorably illustrated board book, perfect for little hands and minds to grasp.

Is this the coolest thing?!? Teaching babies sign language!!!

aroc My little one's daycare has been teaching him. He knows please, more, and eat. Just these few and its a godsend! 5y
Eggs @aroc 👏🏻 to allow them some autonomy at that age allays frustration! My grandsons day care did the same - his favorite one was “more” 😄 5y

8mos after we stopped using signs with Little Dude (due to lack of consistency from 2ndary caregivers), he started using the sign for “milk” without prompting. He got very into the two baby sign language books we have for him & just a few weeks later, he‘s now signing regularly. It‘s wild & so cool to watch him realize he can use this non-verbal language to communicate what he wants more effectively!!

lauren.lerner I don‘t think I knew you had a baby, congratulations @asiriusreader!! 👶🏻🎊❤️. I like the book a lot. I took ASL in college, really excited to use a version of that with Little Dude. 7y
