Pete Seeger in His Own Words | 
Pete Seeger would have been 100 years old today , if he was still with us ,he did live a good long time .He did so much for folk music , as a member of the Weavers ,maker of great kids music ,and mentor to other musicians and folk historians.I love this record from 1956 w/ an instructional book on playing guitar enclosed.Think he did a banjo instructional record as well. Final Head2Head contest in the #ArmchairAudies #OriginalWork category: 'The Dispatcher' (by J. Scalzi) vs 'Pete Seeger, Storm King - Volume 2' (written & performed by P. Seeger et al; ed. by J. Haynes.) The former is sexy, fun, & whets the appetite for more;but the latter, despite the production values,is really only a part of a whole piece; and would probably appeal to an older,NPR-type crowd that remembers Seeger in his day. I finished listening to 'The Storm King' (Volume 1) and was pleasantly surprised at the quality and format: Pete Seeger tells an anecdote about his life; and a corresponding song, poem, or interview... It's unique; but pretty interesting. I've just dnloaded "Volume 2." Reviews for all #ArmchairAudies #OrginalWork entries next week on my blog ??
