Hellboy Volume 10: The Crooked Man and Others
Hellboy Volume 10: The Crooked Man and Others | Mike Mignola
1 post | 7 read | 2 to read
The Eisner Award-winning miniseries The Crooked Man, by Mignola and Richard Corben, teams Hellboy with a wandering hillman in a devilish tale of Appalachian witchcraft. This volume also includes the rare "They Who Go Down to the Sea in Ships" by Mignola, Josh Dysart (B.P.R.D.: 1947), and Jason Shawn Alexander (Abe Sapien: The Drowning), never before available for purchase; Mignola and Duncan Fegredo's "The Mole," from Free Comic Book Day 2008; and Mignola's most recent solo outing, "In the Chapel of Moloch." * Also includes a look into the artists' sketchbooks! * 2009 Eisner Award winner for Best Limited Series! "Richard Corben shows these youngsters how it's done... and it's so good, in its grotesquely beautiful way." -Comic Book Resources

This great issue of Hellboy (found in the tagged collection) features the corpse of one of the most famous #malepirates Blackbeard searching for its severed head off the North Carolina coast!

JoRead Did you hear Pearlman is not going to play him in the movies anymore? I was kind of sad about that 😕 8y
CrowCAH Wow, what a neat take on a historic character. I guess he's looking for his missing head after it gets severed by Woods Rogers in the final battle to the death lol 8y
TobeyTheScavengerMonk @JoRead Yeah, now it's going to be the guy from Stranger Things. I'm even more bummed that that we'll never get resolution to the mega-cliffhangers in Hellboy II. 8y

JoRead @TobeyTheScavengerMonk I know! 😔 8y
Reggie Today, I was listening to This American Life and it was about pirates. What surprised me was that the most successful pirate of all time turned out to be a woman from China in the early 1800's. Crazy huh? 8y
TobeyTheScavengerMonk @Reggie Crazy and cool. I wonder if there's a book about her? 8y
TobeyTheScavengerMonk @Reggie Awesome! Thanks. 8y
