Have you ever had very little recollection of a book that you read? This one is in my Overdrive history and Litsy tells me I gave it a pick so . . . I guess I liked it. Pic of ai little shop in Alabama. No word on whether it has a ghost. #HauntedHouse

Mehso-so

What started out strong puttered into a lot of pieces and characters thrown together in a slow developing story.

Kath rushes to Tennessee upon the death of her grandmother. What she finds is one hot mess - murder, whisperings about her grandmother, a ghost, and a cat who has disappeared. While I wasn‘t a fan of the development of the story, I‘d like to see how the characters flush out in the next book.

Book Two for #DashingDecember

Andrew65 Well done 👏👏👏 3y
mabell They really get better! A continuous storyline develops, and I grew to know and enjoy the regular characters. 3y

Librarybelle Good to know, @mabell ! Thanks! I may look for the next one at the library then. 3y
mabell I was thinking later - I hope I didn‘t oversell it 🤣 I liked the series, but it wasn‘t one of my favorites. 😄 It‘s funny how just getting to know the characters can make me enjoy a series more. 3y
Librarybelle @mabell Completely agree about getting to know the characters. And cozies I find are known for character development and setting than for plot. Thanks!! 3y

Pickpick

I listened to this one because I loved the Highland Bookshop mysteries by this author. Kath, a fiber preservationist, inherits a yarn/weaving shop from her grandmother. While settling her Granny‘s affairs, she finds there are quite a few secrets in the small Tennessee town, and her Granny held quite a few of her own. The story was a bit slow, but I liked it enough to continue the series. Plus, there is a melodramatic friendly ghost 😄
