This one was not for me.
I found it very unbelievable, tedious, dull and repetitive.

Centering around an eccentric historian‘s access to the MC‘s g-grandfather‘s journals, this look at history, ethics, family, myth, community, and spirituality is wrapped in a great story with elegant prose. Sometimes funny, sometimes sad. I highlighted many quotes, but didn‘t want to stop reading long enough to post them. Letter D for #litsyAtoZ, No 1 for #14books14weeks
Captivating, engrossing tale of how seemingly simple choice and secrets can shape lives so different that they don't seem to be connected at all.

I‘ve decided to listen to this audiobook while also listening to Dickens‘ Little Dorrit audiobook depending on my mood. This one is short and I miss Italy. I also need to read another #Italy book for #foodandlit as we celebrate #Jubilee all year long! @Catsandbooks I also need a #letterF for #litsyatoz

Reading very much like a work of Fiction, this brutal account of the Clutter Murders is bone chilling.
Not only is Capote a masterful writer, but his dedication to obtaining all the information needed for this recounting amazes me - especially taking into account the when. No quick Google searches to check facts, or see photos of places. Just feet on the ground investigation.
February 2025 Book #2 (book 1 in this duology)
I still think my favorite book is Elena Knows but this one was a great story. A thriller involving a triangle relationship. Only 162 pages and it was amazing of how many twists it has. Unlikable characters but so well described. I really like Claudia‘s writing style, how she develops these characters. However, there were some actions in our main character that I found unrealistic or too convenient⬇️
A very short biography. I appreciated his message of humility serving the poor. In Argentina and throughout the world. I'm glad I took the time to read it. #Italy #FoodandLit #Jubilee @Texreader @Catsandbooks Also P #LitsyAtoZ
A highly-readable, well -researched book about Catholics in Elizabethan and Jacobean England. It carries lessons we still need today about religious tolerance and the dangers of state involvement in matters of conscience. #letterG #LitsyAtoZ & #doublespin @TheAromaofBooks @Texreader
I loved this book so much. There is not much dialogue. Pure action and integrity in the hearts of two young boys of Shoshone heritage. I loved the loose magical realism with the telepathy of the natives. The trickery and the development of the two separate personalities were just simply delightful. The time with the Roma. I could go on and on. My only wish is I want to read it in it's original language. #LitsyAtoZ @Texreader
So much better than the last one! Thank goodness for no exploding oranges or exotic animals! Nancy and the gang are embroiled in a treasure hunt of sorts, with adventures that feature spooky houses, shifty people, and kidnapping galore. Fun, breezy read. #NancyDrewBR
So sorry for the late reminder, but discussion is Thursday in the AM US East Coast time!
