2 posts | 1 read | 3 to read
Meet thirteen-year-old Thomas Penman. Growing up in a household of eccentrics, including parents who wage a silent war against each other, Thomas downs his first drink, smokes his first cigarette, and pursues the beautiful Gwendolin Hackett. All the while, he forms a special bond with his ailing Grandpa Walker, a World War II veteran prone to dark habits. Thomas undertakes a quest to locate his grandfather's legendary pornography collection, leading him to uncover secrets about the family that will change him irrevocably. The Peculiar Memories of Thomas Penman is a hilarious, engaging, and touching debut novel, an unforgettable tale of one teen's coming of age.

I will be posting one book a day from me extensive collection of books. No explanation of why I have this book. Wow! I have a lot of books. #tbrpile Day #7

Ruthiella I can usually remember where I picked a book up and why but sometimes I run into real mystery volumes on my shelves!😀 4y
booksandsympathy A couple of years ago, I found a book on my shelf that was actually signed! It was a local author too and I have absolutely no memory of where I got it. 4y

#crazycover this is the craziest cove i can find of a book i loved so much i can't pass it on to charity. Very dark humour and i plan to reread, if you like the wasp factory by ian banks it might appeal.
