This one is my least favorite in the series! In this series entry, Daisy is in New York, staying at the Chelsea. Of course, murder happens. But, her interactions with the American characters seemed very stilted and untrue to Daisy. I also struggled with one character‘s very frequent “Oh dear!” exclamations, which resulted in me cringing every time Daisy spoke to this character.

I will definitely continue the series!

Pickpick

This book is enjoyable enough and a bit of a change from the others, but definitely not a favourite -- the chase takes place on spurious grounds and Daisy is quite right that her extra-legal pursuit could've caused the deaths of bystanders. Eugene Cannon/Ms Genevieve is an awesome character though.

Straight into Bk10 of the Daisy Dalrymple series, even though it's 3am here in Sydney. Damn you insomnia!😳

Mariposa_Bookworm I love your thumb rings. Very pretty! 💍 7y
Lizpixie @Mariposa_Bookworm thank you! I bought them at a Craft Market in the Hunter Valley last Easter. The stall holders could only sell items they'd made themselves.💍 7y
Mariposa_Bookworm @Lizpixie It's hard to find jewelry that fits my fingers much less my thumb. I currently have a men's size 12 silver wedding band as my thumb ring. I love silver jewelry. 7y
Lizpixie @Mariposa_Bookworm me too, I have chunky fingers now because of my arthritis, the swelling plus from the meds, I usually have to buy men's rings too but this stall had a lot of bigger rings. I'm allergic to gold so I only wear silver, my hubby & I have as engagement rings silver claddagh rings we bought together from a little Celtic shop in The Rocks, Sydney. 7y
Mariposa_Bookworm @Lizpixie I love the claddagh rings! I'm going to have to search at more craft fairs than regular retail. Thanks for the idea. 7y
