An Aubrey/Maturin novel I found at the used book sale, but did not purchase, because I'm collecting a different cover version. Had to take a pic to share, since the Kirkus review tickled me pink; it says: The rightful heir to Jane Austen. And if you know me, you'll know about my Pride and Prejudice collection!

LeahBergen I love Patrick O'Brian. ❤ His stories are set right in the Regency-era of Austen but told from the "men who are away", military point of view. How far along are you in the Aubrey/Maturin series now?? ? 8y
LeahBergen Oh, and this one is not in that series. This is a (sort of) sequel to The Golden Ocean (and the first two novels O'Brian wrote). 8y
CrowCAH @LeahBergen no farther than book two, three is next on the list. (Oh no I lied?! Oops, clearly didn't read past the cover lol) 8y
LeahBergen @CrowCAH I only know because I had to research which books to buy next! 😂 8y
CrowCAH @LeahBergen sweet! Well, whenever I get around to reading this book, I bet it will be up to O'Brian's nautical standards! 8y
