Pickpick

Both of the short novels in this volume were beautifully atmospheric in a way that calls Shirley Jackson to mind. A must read for fans of ghost stories and modern gothic.

First short novel in this collection of two is definitely a PICK! Really felt slightly more contemporary Shirley Jackson vibes

parasolofdoom @Slajaunie @DebBates101 I like it so far, haven't read any Hill before but getting a slight Shirley Jackson vibe as far as the chill factor being atmospheric rather than jump scares and violent imagery 6y
DebBates101 Ooooo i like the shirley jackson reference 6y
parasolofdoom @DebBates101 I'm a huge fan of Jackson! Highly recommend Ruth Franklin's biography if you're interested 6y
