I found myself buying this book, for the great illustrations, and a good bit of everything on modern witchcraft and supernatural practices. I learned a few new tips and tricks on meditation. The ‘Wheel of the Year‘ features were really good. This is great for beginners, and in this case for me; a best Grimoire for the tarot bookshelf. 🔮

A local book club group of friends, has me reading ‘A Witch for Every Season‘. — I‘m looking to check out the audiobook for the King James ‘Daemonologie‘ witch hunter‘s guide book, and this might be the scariest read; just wondering how King James came up with this stuff, to inspire the historic witch hunting craze 😱 and then Shakespeare wrote MacBeth as based on this book!

I‘ll get to more of my early-bird posts on Monday; but for now, I can share a real treasure that I just found the other day, at a Scotiabank book sale! 😍🎃 I wonder how I had never noticed this seemingly rare find, back in 1999! This book is fully illustrated, with all the best horror classic! Lots I‘m excited to share more about in October! 👻

Real Magic was a great read, with a local book club focused on magical themes. Some of us had flipped around through the chapters, including me reading a bit out of order. I was a bit worried about the essay-styled writing, sounding too much on a scientific approach to the supernatural — sort of so, but really great on history references, and cool examples of magical studies and good results. 🔮

Also, for a quick note here — I‘ve changed my tag-name, from AloeMantis, to SpiderCrafts — as more relatable to my beaded spider crafting projects. 🕷️ Lots of those to come! I‘m looking forward to more of a witchy reads focus with my October plans. 🔮📚

I‘ve been often away from Litsy and reading, this summer, but I do have plans for September. — I‘m returning to the beaded craft projects, but also now with a curious interest for crotchet yarn crafts. I‘d like to give detailed pumpkins a try, and other yarn crafting ideas. — For any readathons and seasonal game events on Litsy, I‘ll be back soon in September with the crafts and audiobooks! 🎧🎃

My local book club friends, we‘re a bit off track for a while, but recently did get back to starting on our next book, Real Magic. Our meetup is on the last week of August. — I‘m joining a few others so far, to say our read is a quicker skim through the scientific ‘reviewing the info for and against‘ article approach to explaining the supernatural. It is a good read that I look forward to sharing thoughts on.

I forgot to write my review for In Search of Grace. — This was a great read, on Kristin‘s journey of visiting days between various faiths. Some we may be familiar with, and others have something new to learn about them, or with a better understanding on the similarities and differences, for each person interviewed. — This was a spring season pick with my local book club friends, and a really good one to still hold onto and read again at times.

I‘m close to finishing this book in time, for the local friends book club 😅 I‘ll be out of town on Sunday, and doing the conference call option with them. — ‘In Search of Grace‘, visiting between so many faiths, shows a bit that we might already be familiar with / so much more to learn from other paths / and a lot that can be better explained or cleared up, about what we assumed on somewhat-familiar first impressions. This is a really great read!

My next Scribd audiobook listen. I was meaning to get to Later, eventually at a later time. 😄 This is starting off really great, and has me so glad to get to this! 🚘👻

I‘m joining a local book club, with a group of friends looking to read spiritual books, and checking in every few months. In Search of Grace is the first on our list. 🕊️📚

This was a great audiobook, with a large variety of stories and histories of the supernatural in Japan. The last few chapters were my favourites on ghost and Yokai entity tales.

My next and current Scribd audiobook. 🎧👻

A good fictional thriller story of survival in a snowy and snowed-in aboriginal community. Really great narration in this audiobook listen. ❄️

My next Scribd app audiobook is Moon of the Crusted Snow. — On to Ch.5, and enjoying the listen. ❄️ Gladly the snowfalls haven‘t been as much, since the previous weeks in Ontario; now getting into this snowed-in story.

I‘ve had another 5 hours in with Fairy Tale, for 9 hours all-together with this audiobook. — In this story, there will be some later encounters with speech-challenged characters, and I feel horrible to say 😅 the audiobook voice acting was becoming too odd to follow. — I‘ll try for getting the physical book another time. I have started on another Scribd audio.

Is Scribd a good app to go with? 🤔 I‘m looking for advice on best ‘new-ish release‘ audiobook subscriptions.

Audible seems to have all the selections, but on a carefully planned credit system. Owning digital books, won‘t be necessary for me. — Scribd sounds like a good idea, for the monthly cost giving access to most audiobooks.

I guess I‘m becoming less old-fashioned 😅 busy with so many things. The audio listens work best for time.

I‘ve been a bit late on posting, and will write more in the comments later about all my favourites. :^) There were more in this collection that I hadn‘t heard before!

But first, mentioning the Ep. 1 story, as the good old Algernon Blackwood ‘The Kit-bag‘. This Christmas Eve setting ghost story, is an even better treasure of the spookiest, w/ the Podcast sounds & narrator acting.
