Forgot to add a review: overall I liked the practical approach and the way the advice was presented. I found this pretty helpful and look forward to using these techniques as often as I can 🤞🏽

Enjoying this so far…
I‘m not saying this is the right book for every parent and child at all times, but it has made a world of difference for me with my toddler. Real life: parenting is hard, my kitchen is messy, and sometimes books can help one of those problems.
Interesting parenting advice. I think some things are more helpful than others. You would certainly need to be incredibly patient to make most of these tips work. Regardless, there are some things I hope I remember in the year of a toddler meltdown.
1) Acknowledge feelings
2) Adjust expectations
3) Be playful
4) Put the child in charge
5) Try problem solving
6) Offer a choice
7) Give information
This book is a really great book. It gives ideas on practical ways to talk to your kids and it helped me turn situations that could easily escalate into a big blow up into just tiny issues. If you have any small kiddos or are around small kids a lot, I would recommend this book....I also loved The Great Beanie Baby Bubble. If you were ever into TY beanies in the 90‘s, go check this out!!!!
Jesse is playing video games and I'm reading about communicating with our toddler. 😂 The very different ways we choose to spend our time when Evie is with her 🤷🏻♀️
Also, this book reinforces how exhausting parenting is. I can only read one chapter at a time and then I have to take a really long break from it.
The chapter missing from all other parenting books.
