Chutes and Ladders. Kitty cats. Good books. Happy Sunday!
Chutes and Ladders. Kitty cats. Good books. Happy Sunday!
Maybe find a little #nanowrimo inspiration from this gem of a title... Honor Roll, The Sun, and Other Lies I‘ve Told. Ooooh....maybe I‘ll read On Writing this month. It‘s one of my husband‘s favorite books and I‘ve been feeling more creative lately. (His book title would be Macchiatos, The Sun, and Other Things the Fairies Stole. I like his title even more!) #findyouryabooktitle
If you know who made this graphic, please let me know!
I‘ve been active on #goodreads for 10-ish years (with some reading history going back to 1998). Twenty years of reading, ya‘ll! Who‘s in your #goodreadsmostread?
I‘m trying to read, but I‘m having a heck of a time focusing today. Does anyone else struggle with that? Or reading too late and not being sure if your dreams were the book or just dreams. #readingbuddies
I was reading on my iPad, but when a toddler climbs into your lap with a giant stack of books you read them all to her. #raisingareader
#furever #readingbuddies
My Darcy died over a year ago and I still miss her SO MUCH.
Tough to choose what to do...snuggle, read, or watch. #readingbuddies
Holy shiz. This book is so effing good. Such TERRIFIC (archaic definition 😉) characters. #karma
Also...#bookly just added some great updates. Now I just wish they‘d stop asking me to pay even more. Earlier adopters should be rewarded, not asked to spend more. Or I‘m just cranky and wrong. I don‘t know.
I forgot to wrap-up my #reversereadathon! Now I‘m onto reading one of the books I had in my options-stack.
I did it! Two books finished during this special edition readathon hosted by @DeweysReadathon! I think #reversereadathon times are even better than the usual hours! Such a wonderful book, too! #icriedsomanytears #bookly
Best guess is I have three hours of reading* before I finish my second book of the #reversereadathon! (*this includes times where I am needed by a toddler and cats.) #catsoflitsy #readingbuddies
I surprised myself and finished The Adults! So now I‘m going to dive back into this one. I have a really hard time sticking with ebooks because I get so distracted by the STACKS of books surrounding me. #reversereadathon #deweysreadathon #distractedreader
Liane-Moriarty-meets-Christmas-with-the-extended-family. Look for it in October! #bookly #deweysreadathon #reversereadathon
Reverse readathon goal(s): finish this/a book. I should‘ve taken a nap 💤 #reversereadathon #24hours #deweysreadathon
I‘m so sad I finished this book. I loved spending time with Marie.
Had I known a square infographic was possible in Bookly I would have been sharing these ALL THE TIME. Also, great book that I randomly picked up from Target a few months ago.
The last few days have been awful. Debilitating anxiety...y‘all I haven‘t experienced anything like this in a LONG TIME. Getting out of bed is hard. Leaving my house is even more difficult. Driving a car...impossible. My sister came and picked us up yesterday. Today I opted to stay home with G.
By the end of the first chapter, I wasn‘t sure about this one. But the next few chapters whizzed by. Excited to keep going (with the book and kitty cuddles). #readingbuddies #catsoflitsy
Good book. Full couch. #readingbuddies #catsoflitsy
I‘m not tired. I️ finished The Jane Austen Project last night. I️ can‘t focus enough for the paperback NF book I‘ve been working through. Plus Jesse is asleep so no lights other than the Christmas tree glow. Therefore, I‘m diving into a new book that will auto return to the library tomorrow. Wish me luck.
I️ always struggle with if I️ should read books about anxiety and/or depression because they always seem to make my symptoms worse. But I️ also learn so much from reading about the experience of others that I️ don‘t want to NOT read the books, you know? Cats help though.
Getting ready to curl up with a book and a bed full of kittens. Living my best life over here, y‘all! 😻
Severus is trying to distract me from reading. But it isn't going to work because I need to know what this book is about.
I finished this one with a giant pile of cats cuddling me. I am so sad I missed this one when I was a kid. But perhaps I wouldn't have even understood half of the funny, clever word games and it was best to discover it as an adult. #readingbuddies #catsoflitsy #rediscoveringreads
Good book. Purring kittens. Can't beat it. #readingbuddies #catsoflitsy
Sometimes I like to go back and visit the books I (somehow) missed in my childhood. And sometimes the kittens say...nah, pet us instead.
I squeeze reading in anywhere and anytime I can. I've never understood people that say they "don't have time". You make time, even if that means you're surrounded by kittens and toddlers (and sometimes you have to pause to get a check-up or read a picture book).
Paradox Bound is a good one for fans of time travel (aka history travel) but aren't looking for something super confusing.
Jesse has to work today so it's just me and G. We've gone to Target, had lunch, and now quiet time with books & snacks. I should probably clean...but, nah.
I wish every Monday could be like this. Good book, kittens, my favorite chair. 💙
Really though...I have not gotten much reading done today.
Trying to squeak in some reading today, but Evie isn't really allowing it.
I have been in such a reading funk lately. I haven't finished a book in over a month. But I'm sick and if I try to sleep, I end up coughing nonstop. So me and the kittens are attempting to get out of this reading funk by diving back into the latest book of the Shades of Magic series.
Y'all!!!! New Ken Follett and Peter Clines!!! I am SO EXCITED!!! The Follett continues the Knightsbridge story! Have any of you read Peter Clines Ex-Heroes series? It's one of my favorites.
Jesse is playing video games and I'm reading about communicating with our toddler. 😂 The very different ways we choose to spend our time when Evie is with her 🤷🏻♀️
Also, this book reinforces how exhausting parenting is. I can only read one chapter at a time and then I have to take a really long break from it.
My iPad is charging and I don't want to read on my phone, so I grabbed these from my nightstand until I can dive back into the world of four Londons.
These two are trying to distract me from Lila Bard and Kell.
Storytime with kittens.
I've never finished this series, but Evie always picks them up off the shelf. Perhaps it's a sign.
MacLean writes such fun characters. While I didn't LOVE this one as much as the 1st in the series, I'm still very much looking forward to the next one!
And yay me! I actually finished a book during the #readathon!
I decided today to sign up for the #readathon...these books have been on my nightstand for months and I haven't read 4 of the 6 here. So...I'll read these? #procrastinator #probablywontstartat5am @DeweysReadathon
I LOVED this book. So much that it is one of the many I'm talking about during our Sizzlin' Summer Reads presentation! (1st presentation today, next one is May 13th at Sunset!)
Just picked up my copy from Changing Hands! And it includes a yoga workshop with Jessamyn Stanley AND book talk AND book signing. 🦄🌈🙌
This book has these fantastic intermissions that are "real people" encounters with celebrities. ?
Also, these are our new kitties: Lord Dresden Drizzleton and Sir Watney Swizzlestick of Little Kittyton. ? Can you guess which is which?
A mystery in an art museum?! Sounds like perfect travel reading.
(Do you ever remember trips because of the books you were reading? I remember reading The Kind Worth Killing on a flight from Denver and hoping Evie would stay quiet just a little bit longer so I could keep reading.)
