Ok, one last thing: did I mention this woman went from working as a Russian translator to a professor of engineering? And that she was a mathphobe for years before that? Yeah, seriously worth the read.

julesG What? 3y
Arbol I took a MOOC from her. She's really great. 3y

Pickpick

Really enjoyed this, particularly the parts about changing career paths and areas. She also has a learning MOOC on Coursera that's on now & free if you don't want a certificate. My only quibble is that I would have much rather read this. Her voice is reedy and - IMHO - not well suited for an audio book. I'm going to have to listen again to certain chapters because a tiny bit of background noise drowned her out at points. Otherwise, fascinating!
