Yoga for Anxiety: Meditations and Practices for Calming the Body and Mind
Yoga for Anxiety: Meditations and Practices for Calming the Body and Mind | Mary NurrieStearns, Rick NurrieStearns
3 posts | 1 read | 4 to read
Many of us face daily demands and overwhelming difficulties that cause seemingly uncontrollable feelings of anxiety and fear. When you feel this way, it's healing to calm yourself and to reclaim your sense of innate goodness and well-being. For centuries, yoga has offered a quiet retreat away from life's pressures and has enabled us to reconnect to our inner wisdom and peace. Regular yoga practice has been proven to calm stress, enhance concentration, and reduce the symptoms of anxiety. This book offers meditations, mindfulness practices, self-inquiry exercises, and yoga poses that soothe anxious feelings and develop mental clarity. Before long, you'll free yourself from the anxiety and fears that hold you back and learn to live with a more open heart and resilient mind. Just as yoga helps you feel more at home in your body, the mental and physical practices in Yoga for Anxiety help you increase your sense of contentment in life.

Going to pick this up tomorrow. I would go today but I just want to stay home today. Maybe. lol now I'm thinking about it too much I may go today. I just took a long hot shower and I don't want to get dressed and all sweaty again, lol #sorrynotsorry

CocoReads After my morning at work and I have to go back tonight--I'm thinking I need this! I also think I might need a new job. 7y
Mimi28 @CocoReads It seems like it would be very helpful!! Good luck finding a new job. ❤️❤️❤️ 7y
CocoReads @Mimi28 it's been something I've been thinking about but part time suits me. And where I'm at is fairly flexible. But we need me to be making full time income. We'd like to pay some stuff off/down in the next 5 years and maybe move. The only way we can see to do it is if I'm working full time. Decisions need to be made. 7y

Mimi28 @CocoReads Sorry to hear things are so difficult 😞 I am not working right now at all but the bills are piling up and would like to pay off stuff also. Keep your emotional health in mind also if you want to work full time. My emotional and physical health is too fragile to work right now. Decisions like this can be difficult, I'm sorry 😐 ((((((( Hugs )))))))))) ❤️❤️❤️❤️ 7y
CocoReads Thank you @Mimi28 I just haven't worked full time in almost 25 years. I'm not opposed to it-i just really like being home. 7y
Mimi28 @CocoReads Well try not to stress yourself out about it. Believe me it will just make things worse. I love being at home also. I really only leave to go to the library or because the fridge is almost empty. Maybe you should try some type of yoga or meditation. I write a lot, and now I am trying yoga. Good luck with everything. I know how difficult it is ❤️❤️❤️❤️ 7y

Mimi28 @Booksandcooks Thanks!! I sweat soooo much. It's a curse, my mom sweats worse than I do. Plus I have chronic fatigue syndrome so after a long hot shower is really the only time my mind is at rest and I just want to sleep, especially in this heat. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ 7y

I was looking up yoga on Amazon books and found this little gem 💎 It's right up my alley!! I may gift a used copy to myself when I get the money. I would be listening to my doctor for once, lol. She told me to do yoga and read more ✔️and ✔️😉

Mimi28 I forgot to mention that some of you Litsians might be interested in it also. 👍😊❤️❤️ 7y
Hobbinol ✔️I've always been interested in yoga classes but have been way too intimidated to get started. I don't know if I'm worried more about the yoga pants or farting during a long protracted stretch. (edited) 7y
Mimi28 @Hobbinol lol, I would be embarrassed to go to an actual class. I would just do it here at home with just the cats watching me. 7y
