This was the summer reading selection for the college where I work. I enjoy StoryCorps books because they prove everyone has a story to tell. It was fun and inspiring to read how different people found their professional callings. It is an easy read because each story is only a few pages long, so you can dip in and out of the book. I think everyone could find someone to relate to in this.

The University where I work assigned this as the freshman reading experience for the fall. It's a great listen if you like sobbing in public spaces.

bookwrm526 Storycorps routinely makes me cry 😭 8y
ReadingEnvy Oh great! I loved the bridge tender and the tattoo removal artist best. 8y

Found on the walk home from the grocery store. I love that it's commonplace to put your unwanted, but still useable belongings on the sidewalk here. Even better, since school officially starts next Tuesday, and I've been doing some work today, I might benefit from reading a story or two 🤗 #storycorp #reading #books

Definitely best experienced as an audiobook. The vignettes are pulled directly from StoryCorps' recordings. It's a truly lovely way to experience stories of how people found their callings.

This is an inspiring collection of interviews from the Storycorps project on the theme of finding meaning in work. I'm setting a new goal of reading one non-fiction book each month from my TBR list.

jessdean Sounds like a great goal! 9y
laurenm @jessdean Thanks! I think so too. Care to join me? 😉 9y
jessdean Haha, I wish! I finally stopped putting expectations on my reading. I read only what I want to read & allow myself to bail on a book if I feel so compelled😉 but I'll watch out for what u read, it'll prob end up on my TBR😊 9y
laurenm @jessdean Love your attitude! 👍 9y

"Being able to feel that you are good at what you do, regardless of your profession- that's the most import thing."

Really enjoyed this book- a definite tear jerker and inspirational read. I have a feeling the audiobook would really hit the heart hard since all of these stories are audio recorded.
