so-soI‘d rate it 4 to 4.5 stars. It was good up until the ending and then kind of fell flat. Maybe my hopes were up too much on how I wanted it to end. Overall, good story, meh ending. I‘d still read more by this author though if given a chance.

✏️MC is a bit unlikeable & presumptuous.
✏️Most of the characters are flat & one-dimensional.
✏️MCs personal familial dynamics were interesting but given very little attention.
✏️No atmosphere for spooky parts.
✏️Finale was rather abrupt.
