“The future is written in code—why not write it yourself?”
“The story of a tech trailblazer who saw what others couldn‘t.“
A fascinating biography of Grace Hopper, a computer pioneer whose innovative thinking revolutionized programming and shaped the technology we use today.
This book can be inspiring to students and show them that there is always room for new people to make contributions in math, science, etc.
Grace Hopper: Queen of Computer Code (2017) by Laurie Wallmark is about Grace Hopper, a woman who revolutionized computer science. The book details her childhood and life growing up and the contributions she made to modern technology.
#jolabokaflod! It took them until 10 pm to fall asleep. The book about Grace Hopper is adorable — easily the equal to the one about Margaret Hamilton I got for the moon landing. I couldn‘t resist getting _Olivia_ for Clee when I read, “you really wear me out, but I love you anyway.”
Whew, I'm home from the Grace Hopper Conference and I am POOPED you guys. It was fun but my voice is completely gone from talking to a gazillion people at our booth and I didn't even have the energy to read on the plane (😭). Doubt I'll make it out of the house this weekend, which could be a good thing for my #TBR after I've had a good night's sleep 😴
I'm in Houston for the Grace Hopper Conference this week - check out our Google booth! Always excited about an opportunity to celebrate women in tech 🙌🏽
Inspiring. I loved her quotes spattered throughout the book, the one pictures above being my favorite. Also, I learned why things that mess up computers are called bugs! At first I thought it would be too long for my kids but now I'm definitely sharing it with my 5yo.
