Soccer. Football. The beautiful game. The worlds most popular sport goes by many names, but for decades, fans have agreed on one thing: the greatest player of all time was Pel. Now he shares his story, his experience, and his insights on the game for the very first time. Before Messi, before Ronaldo, before Beckham, there was Edson Arantes do Nascimentoknown simply as Pel. A national treasure, he created pure magic with his accomplishments on the field: an unprecedented three World Cup championships and the all-time scoring record, with 1,283 goals in his twenty year career. Now, with the World Cup returning after more than sixty years to Brazilthe country often credited with perfecting the sportsoccer has a unique opportunity to encourage change on a global level. And as the tournaments official ambassador, Pel is ready to be the face of progress. For the first time ever Pel explores the recent history of the game and provides new insights into soccers role connecting and galvanizing players around the world. He has traveled the world as the global ambassador for soccer and in support of charitable organizations such as Unicef, promoting the positive influences soccer can have to transform young men and women, struggling communities, even entire nations. In groundbreaking detail and with unparalleled openness, he shares his most inspiring experiences, heartwarming stories and hard-won wisdom, and he puts the game in perspective. ⚽️ Not book related - but I‘m so excited that I had to share. We just found out tonight that my younger son (14 yo), Keegan, made the 2005 Ohio South Youth Soccer Olympic Development Team (OSYSA ODP). He also made the team 2 years ago, but not last year ☹️. The team will compete against other USYSA Region 2 teams at the end of the month. #proud 👍🏻🎈🎉😄⚽️

Great read - funny and insightful. Not my favourite football memoir ever, but still really really good. ☺

For the past 3 years I've been working as a social media manager at the biggest football/soccer publication in Africa. It's been a fiercely rewarding experience and I've learned so much and grown so much too. I'm moving on to a new job that I know is going to challenge me in so many ways. #NowReading this book and will gift it to the company before I leave on Friday. Here's to new chapters - in books and in life! ☺💜🎉

DeborahSmall Well done. Is new job soccer/football related? My husbands work is in football development in youth and he's the head coach of a semi professional team in Northern Ireland's premier league. The only books he reads are football books. I have the last Pele book in my library but not this one. Good luck in your new job ❤️ 7y
haanim @DeborahSmall the new job is completely different, not football related at all! That's amazing! I love the game and I'm looking forward to enjoying it as a fan again, and it not being work anymore 😊 thank you! 7y
