A book I wouldn't have read if I wouldn't have gotten it as a gift. I'm not really one for those philosophical stories where one author tells you stuff thousands before already did. But one never knows, right?
So I gave it a try.
And got what I expected. Stories that have already been told a thousand times and often better than they way they're presented here. But it's a cute idea and a lovely idea for people new to philosophy.
In two words: Ok, boomer.😅
This is written from a place of immense privilege and 'why are you here?' becomes a very dark question when you haven't won the place-of-birth lottery.
The sarcasm about having enough money for retirement made me especially angry. There is a fine line between how much do you really need and being unable to afford a roof over your head.
Also all sorts of epiphanies seem to happen on expensive holidays abroad.🤔
A German Blinkist audio. I liked the 3 questions that it starts with, but if you take into account that I listened to it yesterday afternoon and already have forgotten about everything but those questions, you can guess that I was not very impressed. Maybe I will re-listen to it but, honestly, I think, it just provided kind of every day knowledge to me and that‘s why I couldn‘t relate too much.
"Why is it that we spend so much of our time preparing for when we can do what we want, instead of just doing what we want right now?" #time #reflections #life #future
Reading is a whole state of mind🌞
Ein schönes Buch wenn man gerne über den Sinn des Lebens nachdenkt ☺️
