Listening to this book made me think of my granddad, who was a watchmaker. He worked as a Timekeeper for a railroad station located in my small hometown in Kentucky. At the time of his death, when he was 87, we found 5 clocks he was working on in his workshop. There was even a beautiful German cuckoo clock waiting to be delivered back to its owners. This book covered so much material but was so enjoyable. I will end up buying the hard copy.
Content-wise, I felt this was more of a review for me, given that I had started my meanderings into cosmology/physics with Brian Greene‘s “The Elegant Universe.” But it‘s not lacking in star appeal (no pun intended)…I‘m a huge fan of Stephen Hawking, RIP. I‘d recommend this short book to anyone wanting their black holes, neutrinos and particle colliders put in introductory lay terms, from a famed theoretical physicist with a sense of humor.
This is about timing. Best, most productive times of the day. Why it's better not to graduate during a recession (😂 duh) etc. I found it very interesting. It also justified my inability to get things done in the afternoon when I get up at 5. Explained? Whatever.

An interesting read. Rovelli brings a sense of poetry and playfulness to a complex topic that makes it engaging and accessible. I think I'd still need another listen (or five) to begin to grasp some of the strands here, but it is worth exploring. (And with Benedict Cumberbatch narrating the audio, I don't mind spending extra time listening!)

first books of the year are MORTAL FOLLIES by Alexis Hall (which i described as sexy mayhem with Napoleonic War jokes to a friend) and SAVING TIME by Jenny Odell which is even more intense and philosophical than HOW TO DO NOTHING and i am 1000% here for it.
(pink theme is accidental)
This book was interesting, but not life changing. Kind of meh.
#top23of23 part 2 listed in the order completed. And there's actually 24 total. Just couldn't cut any on the list 😉
