I haven't read a cookbook from beginning to end in years... This one is so well put together and truly does pay homage to the traditional Mexican cooking I grew up enjoying. It's fancy but still authentic recipes.

Homemade carnitas for my step-dad's birthday dinner at our place! I made a huge salad with cumin/lime dressing, tacos with all the things (pickled onions, cilantro, cotija, and some delicious guacamole), and then I made my own refried beans from the Nopalito cookbook! If you've never made your own, DO IT. Worth it! Paired it with a Boulevardier 🥃 using the new whiskey we got him as a present. Happy Hump Day!!
