This Child Will Be Great: Memoir of a Remarkable Life by Africa's First Woman President | Ellen Johnson Sirleaf
4 posts | 4 read | 4 to read
“The first thing to be said about Ellen Johnson Sirleaf’s This Child Will Be Great is that it is exceptionally well written, a true story that seems as much a thriller as the remembrances of an ambitious and brave woman. . . . This timely book, essential for anyone who hopes to understand West Africa in general and Liberia in particular, is a lesson in courage and perseverance.” —Washington Post From Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf—Africa’s first elected female president—comes an inspirational memoir about her improbable rise to international prominence, her fight for political freedom, and her unwavering determination to rebuild Liberia in the wake of civil war.

Wow! Quite the story! Ellen was the first elected female head of state in Africa. Such an interesting book, with devastating destinies, about a determined woman who wanted a change.

Got inspired after I‘d finished reading Fire and Fury. Since I am in the midst of reading a book from every country I‘ve gotten familiar with many shitholes. America first, shitholes second??? The orange color was obviously a coincidence...

I've been working my way through as many of the women Nobel Laureates as I can. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf is one of 3 winners in 2011 for the Peace Prize. This is her memoir. Its amazing. She's amazing. I loved the audio book.
