A poorly supported premise in my view, but it makes the reader thing about how others speak, particularly in the political realm.

This is a must read for every person ever. Despite its small size, it takes a while to get through, especially if you take the time (and you should!) to really consider each passage. Without the last chapter that gives strategies for combatting demagoguery, it would be a pretty depressing read but luckily the author provides some answers. And it will fit easily in my fanny pack, so that‘s a plus from me 😊
You really have no excuse not to read this book. Look at its compact size! The ideas expressed inside are powerful and the message huge: demagoguery can be defeated by compassion. There's also some fancy,
Smarty-pants rhetorical terms that will disarm even the most committed and argumentative sheeple. Ask yourself, can you really afford not to read this book with our democracy at stake? 🇺🇸
What is demagoguery? Does the definition proffered sound like anything familiar to you? (So far I'm loving this little gem of a book by a professor of rhetoric.) 💎
