My first ever Shana Galen read, and it is an absolute delight! The characters were interesting, the story was exciting, and this was just a ton of happy fun from beginning to end. Definitely recommended for fans of historical romance.

💗💗💗💗 This started a little slow because she bogged down in the details of setting up the back story of a new series. The hero is dyslexic war hero & a man of few words. The heroine is a talkative adventurous woman. There is external conflict but the relationship development is very low drama. It‘s a sweet story. #romantsy

This one includes one of my favorite heroes: quiet, charming, non-brooding type. And the heroine was so uniquely naive yet adventurous it had me giggling at her shenanigans. In short a great read. It's a pick for me.

One of the best historical fiction romances I've read in a while! The hero is silent and broody but also a bit broken. He has dyslexia which isn't something I've seen in HF before, but it works well here and makes you fall for Ewan even more. Lorrie is a spitfire girl, albeit naive and innocent and she's the perfect compliment to Ewan. He's her bodyguard but of course it turns into more. Perfect escapism after a long workday.

Stayed up late (or early rather) to finish this ARC. I must say this is one of the best historical romances that I've read in awhile! A gruff, gentle giant of a hero who doesn't say much meets his match as he serves as bodyguard to a passionate, headstrong duke's daughter who won't STOP talking. 😂A bit of role reversal as SHE pursues him. Next up, an ARC (due out in November) of a regency romance about a headstrong daughter of a duke and her gentle giant of a bodyguard.
