This was like a satirical Fitzgerald; depressing & amusing all at once. Characters that needed to be more thoughtful were a tad underdeveloped, as such (Nona). But I felt for her & almost wish there was a sequel where she gets her own version of a "happy ending". A 3-star pick because it didn't quite stick the landing as I expected it to, but it's astutely Whartonian in how it exposes the vacuousness of the capitalist elite. #WhartonBuddyRead

This title #WithVacation is in my TBR. I read one of the author‘s previous book & enjoyed it. This one is set in Maine & since I have always lived in the PNW & Hawaii, I find summers & vacations on east coast beaches intriguing!
Huh, this cover was super cute and I didn‘t at all expect cat eating monsters. Um. Not sure how I feel about this one.
Managed to bag this beauty and it was the last copy in Waterstone's Liverpool ❤️
I cannot wait for the rest of the 50th anniversary ones to come out.
My first Ross book but definitely won‘t be my last. Beautiful and unique fantasy world-building, characters to root for and love and a story that is absorbing and gorgeously written…unfortunately for me, it‘s a standalone. 😂😂😔 Happy to have discovered this author. 4.5/5⭐️

My BN birthday mini-haul! I feel like I have to get a short story collection when I shop in person, and this Nigerian-British one is pretty and sounded good!
DYRBB has that sinister techy SciFi vibe I‘ve been digging lately, so I decided on it, too. There were three others that came close but my library had them, so I‘m going to take advantage of that!
So in the end, the first book was my favorite of the four, but this was still a satisfying conclusion. There was one plot gimmick that mildly annoyed me (see spoiler), but these books are so ridiculous that I just kept rolling with it haha 100% absurd, shallow melodrama that I totally was into 😂
