so-so#romantsy between 40 yo tattoo shop owner & 23 yo apprentice who is son of his best friend. I liked Jericho & Poe, that they kept the power dynamic in check by having Poe being the pursuer, & the basic story. But there wasn‘t any sense of a reason for their relationship outside of sex & once they became romantically involved, the story felt like an excuse to write daddy kink.
so-soPermanent Ink has a lot of good things going for it. Graffiti, tattoos, a story of second chances, and a happy ever after. I‘m even into the age gap.
Unfortunately I was kind of bored with it. Every time the writers had an opportunity to really create some conflict or character growth they backed down. The lack of any real stakes kept me from getting hooked. I really wanted to like it but it left me lukewarm.

pickGuys, this was really good. Deliciously so. The character growth, the chemistry, the writing style all delighted me.
I was pleasantly surprised by what the conflict ultimately ended up being about. This is what I need contemporary romance to be: realistic conflicts that resolve because the characters act like adults. Also, second chances is one of my favorites tropes, and this actually interprets that in a different way. #romantsy
