Melissa_J I want to get one of these. Let me know how you like it. 7y
aschermetz I am obsessed with my instant Pot. It's my most used kitchen appliance! Are you on Facebook? If so, join the official Instant Pot Facebook Group. Lots of helpful tips and recipes there. Also This Old Gal and Hip Pressure Cooking are two blogs I regularly reference for great IP recipes. 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Melissa_J Based on dinner tonight, I'm in love! 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @aschermetz Thanks - I'll join the group and follow those blogs. I'm not the main cook in our family, but this might invigorate me to contribute more often. 7y
Crystalblu How is it different from a crockpot? 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Crystalblu It‘s a pressure cooker, which also has settings that let you use it as a slow cooker (crock-pot). Pressure cookers cook very fast compared to stovetop or oven. (edited) 7y
Crystalblu Nice, might have to ask for one this Christmas ;) 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Crystalblu There are a ton of sites about them. I like it a lot so far! 7y
Jess_Read_This Oh!! I've been so curious about Insta Pot!! Please tag me in your review of it! 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Jess_Read_This My first dinner was a huge winner, so I'm a fan! 7y
Jess_Read_This @BarbaraTheBibliophage Nice!! 7y
ValerieAndBooks @Tamra is an IP user and has mentioned some IP cookbooks! 7y
Tamra I love it and use it a lot! I like Hip Pressure Pot because it's a very good entry point and ongoing reference. She also has a website with recipes. 😁 Google IP and you'll find plenty! Recently I was oggljng an IP Indian cookbook. Nearly any slow cooker recipe can be adapted and after using it a while, you will get an intuitive feel about how to use it. Happy Cooking! 7y
Hip Pressure Cooking: Fast, Fresh, and Flavorful
Tamra Also, search for IP on FB and there are pages devoted to it. Here is the new Indian book 7y
Indian Instant Pot(r) Cookbook: Traditional Indian Dishes Made Easy and Fast
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Tamra I followed Hip Pressure Pot on YT and FB. Made her chickpea curry last night. It burned a bit (her water amounts didn't seem clear to me), but was still yummy. And I made lava cake tonight. Swoon! So amazing! 7y
Tamra @BarbaraTheBibliophage 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 You should post a pic! I'm going to check out that curry.I really enjoy the IP. 😁 (edited) 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Tamra Maybe I will. I need to find my powdered sugar and dust the top - still have another serving for tomorrow! Try the curry for sure. 7y
tlmorgan Oooh! I started cheap so I felt less intimated. Hard boiled eggs are simple and a huge win! I've done cheesecake, apple butter, yogurt. Love it! A side note-cook time starts to finish maybe the same for some things as stove or oven but hands on time is typically way less! Good luck! 7y
tlmorgan Oh huge yes to curry!! 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage Thanks @tlmorgan ! I haven't done hard boiled eggs yet, but am dying to do poached since they are such a pain on the stovetop. I don't really cook (my husband does) but this has been so fun. I'm def making pumpkin and apple butter this fall. I'll try cheesecake but I have perfected it in the oven, so I'm not sure I need the IP. He's making pork roast tomorrow, I think. 😎 7y
