Well I likedthis. Not the best book ever but filled a purpose and tied things up well!

I didn‘t love this sequel to Rebecca. The writing felt a bit clunky and basic. Extract below, punctuation as is;
For the whole of that night and the next day, whatever I saw or heard or thought, however I answered Maxim, lightly, comfortably, he was at one remove from me, I pressed a switch and life continued, but it was real life, it did not signify.
I agree with @scripturient too,no character development throughout and all very predictable.
This was a good book and a decent sequel to DuMaurier‘s Rebecca. The story took a while to get going and I would have expected a bit more action and especially character development in the protagonist (she is just as naive as she was ten years before — story-time-wise). Thus: an interesting read that captures well the voice of DuMaurier, but with a few flaws. 3.5 stars.
A sequel to Rebecca? Written by Susan Hill? Hell yeah!!!
