Wolf, the Duck, and the Mouse
Wolf, the Duck, and the Mouse | Mac Barnett
6 posts | 16 read | 2 to read
This is a story about a duck and mouse who get swallowed by a wolf, and then decide to live in his belly. Early one morning a mouse met a wolfand was quickly gobbled up. When a woeful mouse is swallowed by a wolf, he quickly learns he is not alone: a duck has already set up digs, and, boy, has that duck got it figured out! Turns out it's pretty nice in there, with delicious food and elegant table settings, courtesy of the wolf's unchecked gluttony. And there's something even better: no more fear of being eaten by a wolf! In fact, life is pretty good, until a hunter shows up. . . . With a nod to traditional fables and a wink to the reader, the award-winning Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen offer a tale of cooperation and creative cuisine that is sure to go down easy.

This book was published in 2017 and won the E. B. White book award. This book is a humorous book, and the story is about a mouse and a duck that get eaten by a wolf. I would recommend this book and will use it in my classroom!

Read this cute story at the library. Shame I've already got a picture book for W.

Adorable folktale that explains why a wolf howls at the moon. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Massachusetts Short List for the Mock Caldecott Awards was announced recently. Since we‘ve been slow at work this week (the normal post-holiday lull + FREEZING temperatures), I‘ve had plenty of time to check out the books. So far, I‘m rooting for “The Wolf, the Duck, and the Mouse.” Although, I really love “The Book of Mistakes.” And “The Antlered Ship.” And “Tony.” And “Muddy.” Aw, crap.🙈

monalyisha Mostly, I‘ll only be upset if “A Greyhound, A Groundhog” wins. I really don‘t like it. I understand that it‘s unique. And that it‘s (supposed to be) clever. I don‘t care. 😅👎🏻🤞🏻 (edited) 6y
