Here are my z, o, & v picks for #BBRC #A2Z
Zootopia - was cute and I loved the bright pictures.
On the Night You Were Born - was a cutesy little book done in verse with an audio option.
The Berenstain Bears Visit The Dentist - was a typical Bears book that I'm sure I read as a kid. Is any one else annoyed that the bears don't have names? In this one Sister had a loose tooth.

I absolutely loved this book. This coming of age story of Ari, who really embodies #TeenAngst who meets Dante at the local pool. Dante teaches him how to swim and they quickly become friends 💙

Two to finish - Beloved (I'm supposed to have it read for book group tonight, not sure if I'll get there) and West Coast - then I want to make a start on Mythos at long last. The Days in Between (for #BBRC Middle a Grade Written by an Actor) will go in my handbag. Elle Kennedy's Bad Apple is my bedtime romance (on the kindle, not shown)

umbrellagirl Mythos was excellent! 1d
Cinfhen I did Mythos on audio!!! Stephen Fry is BRILLIANT!! So good!!! Loved listening to him. 1d

I really enjoyed this! It was a fun and entertaining read, I can see why kids love this series. I‘ll definitely be reading the others soon.

And this fulfills my last prompt for the #MGME portion of #BBRC (cover change mid-series). I‘ll be updating my google form tomorrow, on to #teenangst!

#pop19 1 mil+ reviews on GR

CarolynM I was wondering what to choose for the cover change prompt. I might give this one a go too🙂 4d
Blh87 Such a good series! The Heroes of Olympus series that followed this series was also SO good! 4d
LibrarianRyan Yeahhhh. @CarolynM there are a bunch of suggestion on my time line under #coverchangemidseries (I think ) 4d

LibrarianRyan @CarolynM I lied. There are a few under that. I‘ll look up the tag I used for all the others tomorrow morning. 4d
veritysalter Ah a fellow lover of “crackle TV”!! 🔥🔥🔥 I use it in my garden room that doesn‘t have a fire, the best noise to read to. 4d
4thhouseontheleft @veritysalter 😂😂 YesX I love the sound! We actually have a gas fireplace in this room, but sometimes I want the sound without the heat. 🔥 4d
veritysalter @4thhouseontheleft Best thing on YouTube, it gives off the cosy vibes, with a book, a blanket and a warm drink (dog or cat optional) - heaven. Happy reading 📖 xx 4d

#NewClassic #BBRC #readaroundtheworld #SouthAfrica

When toddler Dineo falls seriously ill, her older siblings set off on the long walk to find their mother, who‘s working in Johannesburg. This was written to help children understand what life under apartheid actually meant, and I‘m sorry to say I learnt so many things from it. I took particular note of the schoolchildren marching in the streets and striking from school as their learning only 👇

RachelO equipped them to become servants. Naidoo herself regrets that her own schooling as a white South African never encouraged her to think or question or even truly see the situation around her. (edited) 5d
LibrarianRyan Wow. Sounds heavy. I‘ll have to look into it. 5d
RachelO @LibrarianRyan It‘s definitely MG level - it packs a lot of information in but keeps things ultimately hopeful and not-too-grim. Written in 1985. 5d
BookwormAHN Heavy but hopeful. I'll also look into it. 5d

1. The community and people
2. I scroll past if it‘s not for me. I am seeing a lot of talk about #screamathon today. I have no issue with people unfollowing or muting if that doesn‘t interest you! I had no control over a similar hashtag created by someone else this year. Halloween is my jam, but I hold my breath through all the Christmas stuff. 🤷🏻‍♀️
3. Litsy swag
4. Daily
5. A mix of things
6. 🛑 the trending # feature

sprainedbrain #screamathon is my favorite time of the year! 5d
Texreader Litsy swag! Agreed! 5d
Kimberlone Hopefully more people are aware of the hashtag muting feature now and will be able to filter out the posts they don‘t want to see. I just tend to scroll past stuff that doesn‘t interest me rather than be bothered by it 5d

4thhouseontheleft @Kimberlone It would help if we could do it from the app. I know all the swap and challenges take a lot of work to organize and run, and major props to the people that do a bunch of them. Between #screamathon and #booked2020 that‘s basically my limit as far as hosting goes. 😂 5d
StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego I really don't like how this line of questioning had created a kind of Litsy shaming in how people choose to post. There is no wrong was to use Litsy. People are concerned that there is less activity, but then making the people who do post feel bad. 5d
4thhouseontheleft @StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego I wasn‘t going to post this at all, until I saw a lot of comments about screamathon and wanted to address it. I truly don‘t mind people unfollowing me if our interests don‘t match up. I‘m not here for likes or litfluence. 😃 But yeah, my philosophy is you do you, and I‘ll do me. 😄 5d
Kimberlone @4thhouseontheleft agreed. The functions should be same whether website or app based. 5d
Addison_Reads @4thhouseontheleft I personally love #screamathon. It's the first activity I ever participated in on Litsy. Everyone has their own tastes, but we're all adults, if you don't want to see something, scroll past or unfollow, seems simple enough. Part of what makes Litsy great is we're all different. 😁 5d
LibrarianRyan @StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego I hope people don‘t feel bad. That‘s never my intention and I‘m sure it‘s not others. Sometimes I think it‘s nice to know pet peeves. Don‘t you want to know them in any relationship. It allows us to talk things out instead of exploding and having the call out culture you see on other platforms. It seems more rational give and take for most people instead of arguing and craziness. (edited) 5d
LibrarianRyan @4thhouseontheleft I loved screamathon and you did a n awesome job. Your right, you had no control of the similar tags and they were so close. And you had yours first. I won‘t lie, I got them mixed up and I only participated in one. Don‘t let it bother you. You did great and we‘re an excellent host! 5d
4thhouseontheleft @LibrarianRyan 💚💙💜 And I am having a blast with #BBRC. My favorite challenge this year! (But shhh...don‘t tell my #booked2019 co-hosts). 🤣🤣 5d
CarolynM A big yes to Litsy swag🙂 5d
StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego @LibrarianRyan I don't think anyone is purposely making anyone feel bad, it's just an unintended result that I don't care for. And all the concerns that people have have already been discussed and argued about at length on the OnwardLitsy FB group. I just don't like negativity spilling over into Listy. But the muting function is becoming known about, so heop 5d
StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego @LibrarianRyan *So hopefully that helps people enjoy the app better! 5d
LibrarianRyan @4thhouseontheleft thanks. I‘m trying at #booked but it‘s pushed me. Which is a good thing. read header doesn‘t push me, but I know the people hosting book. Have to earn my A. It‘s weird but it‘s how my mind works. 😃 5d
LibrarianRyan @StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego very true. I “left” Fb almost two years ago and don‘t regret it. Technically I still have an account for work purposes, but I‘m only one like 2 times a year, do my conference posts and that‘s it. It‘s just so toxic. 🤢🤮. I didn‘t realize the onward group had grown toxic as well. That‘s a bummer. Here hoping it stays away from my sanctuary. 5d
LibrarianRyan @marleed 😁❤️👍🏻 5d
Sace Personally I love the Halloween alongs, but I did a lot of unfollowing and hashtag muting this year. I know you have no control on similar hashtags but my perception is that the similar names/events happen frequently and usually by the same members and being the cynical a-hole that I am it just annoys me so I start unfollowing a ton of people when those copycat hashtags pop up. 5d
ljuliel Regarding the Halloween posts ? I didn‘t really follow along with any of it, so no idea what that‘s about . My questions were not intended to cause problems, only to try to see why it‘s gotten so quiet in here and so many have left. I think everyone that responded was very polite and civil. It sometimes does some good to allow folks to offer their opinions in a civil manner. @LibrarianRyan summed it up well. 5d
4thhouseontheleft @ljuliel I didn‘t know you were the creator! I wasn‘t sure it came from lol. I think it has sparked some interesting discussions. 5d
ljuliel Yea, I certainly didn‘t intend for it to offend anyone. I just think everyone gave their own opinions . Some I might agree with, others I don‘t, but I‘m glad everyone felt comfortable enough to talk. I‘m sorry if it caused problems with anyone. 5d
ljuliel @StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego I didn‘t see any Litsy shaming. I saw people giving their opinions in a civil manner. 5d
