I didn't really enjoy this graphic novel. It jumped around a lot. The illustration were good, but I just didn't enjoy the way the story plot went all over the place. I rated this book a 3 out of 5 stars.

God, Morrison's superhero work has been tarnished with some awful art. The start of his legendary BATMAN run is an ambitious attempt to reconcile 70 years of comics in a single character, and it's nearly undone by Tony Daniel. Thankfully, there's a great 3-part story with JH Williams to help sell it

Mentallofilth @ArznersFishingRod Agreed. Better than Howard Porter's early JLA stuff too. But Morrison's superhero stuff overall has had a lot of unfortunate art. 9y

ArznersFishingRod I feel too much like a hipster when I say Animal Man and Doom Patrol are still my favorites. But that's the case 9y

Mentallofilth @ArznersFishingRod Oh, absolutely agreed. I'm re-visiting this stuff after reading Glenn Weldon's book on Batman's history. But yeah, AM/DP/Flex are tops for me. 9y
