Jónas is a man in 1600s Iceland who has been exiled to a small island off the coast, from where he ruminates and recounts his story. This is a weird book with odd structural changes and vivid, gross descriptions. But, ultimately, I kinda liked it.

Of course I would go book shopping on Jolabokaflod in Reykjavík and pick up a book by a local author. As the holiday demands, I started reading it right away on this brisk Icelandic afternoon! (Ok, not really, but it made for a good picture. ?)
Finally got my hands on another book by Sjón. I am so excited this guy I feel like more people should know about his work!! I connected with moonstone!! I‘m very excited for this Icelandic saga
Recent book sale loot. 3 brand new books for 10 (sg) dollars. Not bad. :)
