Beeeeeeeeeeeep! This is a jest. This is only a jest. Rhymes from the Recliner: A Collection of Couch Potato Poetry is a light-hearted devotional to classic television programming. It's tinted with humor, irony, and affection, and intended to put a horizontal hold on lovers of prose and tv shows. It is easily enjoyed by most everyone, though poetry readers and music listeners may be the most enthusiastic, for they will also notice that many of the poems are patterned after well known pieces of poetry and popular songs. It is for people who have grown tired of others tuning in and dropping out when they quote the same old, stuffy bits of philosophy about life and love. It is for those who want to arm themselves with a clever verse about The Love Boat or Name that Tune, and turn themselves into a regular boob-tube troubadour. It can be enjoyed with a latte at one's favorite coffee shop, or with a beer and a bag of chips on an old sofa, munching and giggling to Hee Haw as interpreted thru Shakespeare. There really is something good on television this book.

#HallowReads #day21 #StayOutSaturday Once again I have stayed out in my library all night and fallen asleep in my recliner. Pros: sleep surrounded by my lovely lovely books, no wanting to smother the hubby coz of his snoring 😴 Cons: can hardly walk from stiffness due to being in wrong position all night, woken up early coz no block out curtains on window. It's pretty 50/50 to me. Maybe if I move my bed in there & change the curtains? Hmmmm🤔

JoeStalksBeck Sleeping surrounded by books is the best!!! 7y
teebe Or add bookshelves to your bedroom! Make it so everywhere is your library😂 7y
ApoptyGina69 I know people hate them, but I learned to get used to foam earplugs years ago while I sleep. 7y

CuriousG I installed two large floor to ceiling bookshelves on my side of the bed. Fall asleep staring at books so it really does feel like sleeping in a library! Also managed to contain my hubby's snoring too. In his case was caused by sleep apnea so wearing his c-pap mask makes it go away. Otherwise, I would second the earplugs comment 7y
Lizpixie @JoeStalksBeck @teebe I'm currently in "negotiations" with hubby to put shelves in when we resheet & paint the wall behind our bed? @ApoptyGina69 @CuriousG I usually have shure in ear noise cancelling earphones with an audiobook playing but my headphones finally broke after four years & as they cost $400 I've gotta wait till Xmas for new ones? (edited) 7y
JoeStalksBeck Yes!!! 7y
CuriousG @Lizpixie If you need something cheaper to carry you through to Christmas, you can get a half decent pair of noise-isolating headphones for under $30. My husband uses them because he has noise sensitivity. They don't cancel out the background noise, but they do help reduce how much gets through. 7y
teebe @Lizpixie if you sleep with headphones, I definitely recommend the kind that are built into a headband. No idea what they're properly called but if you search "sleep headphones" on amazon, a bunch come up. They're much more comfortable, sound great, and do a good job of blocking out other sound. 7y
