Goody Two-Shoes
Goody Two-Shoes | Oliver Goldsmith, John Newbery
1 post | 1 read | 1 to read
Farmer Meanwell was at one time a very rich man. He owned large fields, and had fine flocks of sheep, and plenty of money. But all at once his good fortune seemed to desert him. Year after year his crops failed, his sheep died off, and he was obliged to borrow money to pay his rent and the wages of those who worked on the farm. 15 Children's Books No One Reads Now
by Stacy Conradt (http://mentalfloss.com/article/504193/15-childrens-books-no-one-reads-now)

Redwritinghood I‘ve read Pinocchio and the Caddie Woodlawn book, which was one of my favorites as a girl. 7y
quirkyreader If you ask me, whomever wrote this article might be misinformed. I was a a bookshow on Sunday and there was a person there specifically collecting Raggedy Ann stories. Older kids books fly off the shelves because they are hard to find. Though not popular all 15 of the books in this article still have fans an an audience. 7y
mcipher I‘ve read Tootle, I‘m pretty sure Caddie Woodlawn, parts of Dick & Jane and Pinocchio.... it‘s so hard when so many are familiar enough to feel like I‘ve read them even if I‘m not quite sure! 7y

PirateJenny We reissued Pinocchio with an intro by Jack Zipes not terribly long ago. Though as a Penguin Classic I guess it's more intended as an adult edition. But I also read Caddie Woodlawn. I did not read the article yet 7y
KCorter @quirkyreader I agree! It seemed odd to me that I at least recognized most of these books and have read quite a few of them. I knew I needed to check with my Littens. 😊 7y
