2 posts | 2 read
All is peaceful between the zombies and the humans of Quirkville . . . until an unexpected alien invasion causes widespread panic and chaos! As the aliens run rampant, demanding something mysterious in their alien language and coating the town in cosmic grape jelly when they’re not understood, the mayor declares a state of emergency. Once again, Reginald the zombie comes to the rescue, bravely suggesting that the seemingly evil aliens try pairing their jelly with some of his favorite peanut butter. Despite their differences, the residents of Quirkville, the zombies, and the aliens work together to create the greatest sandwich in the universe! Full of lots of humor and heart, this entertaining sequel to Peanut Butter & Brains will satisfy readers who are craving more.

Peanut Butter & Aliens is a science fiction (SF) book by Joe McGee and illustrated by Charles Santoso. This book is about the humans and zombies that live peacefully together in a fictitious town called Quirkville. But things change when aliens invade the town. What will the zombies and humans do?

This book would be best read aloud (RA).

Nkaufmann Students will have a great time listening to the teacher read a book about zombies, humans, AND aliens. There are onomatopoeias and great illustrations that will have students engaged and laughing.

The UDL principle 3.3 regarding guiding information processing and visualization and the EL principle 14 regarding simplifying your speech by making it slower and redundant would both be met by this picture book. It is important to go at a slower...

Created by Joe McGee, this SF picture book is the sequel to Peanut Butter & Brains. Perfect for a RA due to the humor of the story and the detail of the pictures. In Peanut Butter & Aliens, all chaos breaks loose when aliens arrive in Quirkville. The aliens are displeased with their food choices and begin to cover the town in grape jelly.

kkidwell Some of the town‘s residents attempt to solve the problem by introducing peanut butter to the equation. The focus is then turned to creating the best sandwich ever. This story can teach the value of community in a humorous, out of this world context. #UCFLAE3414F17 7y
