Pickpick

This poem is about a narrator who listens to the voice inside their head and decides to follow it. This poem teaches the great lesson that kids should listen to their inner voice and trust their instincts

#LetsTravelJuly #Africa Heinemann has published an African Writers Series for years , I am always delighted to find them .These authors were (are)all from Nigeria.Soyinka won the Nobel Prize for literature in 1986.All 3 still on my TBR.

andrew61 Looks intriguing, i love finding African writing. 5y
jveezer Wow! Those look awesome. I'm trying to read my way through Africa. Nigeria is pretty accessible but try finding a writer (in English) from Chad or Mauritania or Benin.

Leftcoastzen @andrew61 watch for them in the cheap book bins ,these are all Heinemann London. 5y
Leftcoastzen @jveezer I suppose it‘s difficult,my guess is if they are from those countries and translated , they are in the language of the colonizer? 5y
jveezer @Leftcoastzen It is my misfortune to only be able to read in the languages of the colonizers but I do love to read the rare writers who are translated from their own language, like the Gikuyu of Ngugi wa Thiong‘o. (edited) 5y
