Just dug this out. About 15 or so years ago this book (and others in the series) was everywhere. Made a brilliant stocking filler - in fact I must've gifted a copy to everyone I knew. It's full of the kind of obscure knowledge that I just lap up. Examples: Orchestra Schematic. Firework categories. Boatswain's calls. Bonsai Tree terminology. Glasgow Coma Scale. And directions from Land's End to John O'Groats. (Driving time - c.16 hours)
KathyWheeler The one like it that I see everywhere now is Atlas Obscura. I love these kinds of things. 7y
