I appreciated how thoroughly he explained utilitarianism as a way to balance the self and the selfless.

I think the best parts of the book were how often he made you squirm with moral dilemmas and let you sit with the discomfort of finding one scenario morally repugnant but another similar but different scenario morally acceptable. This really helped make the case that our gut feelings for morality aren‘t always reliable.
